Refund Policy
Tuition is calculated for the entire season, or portion remaining at time of registration, then divided into equal monthly payments. Tuition is non-refundable. Withdrawal requests must be received in writing using the Class Drop/Transfer Request by Modern Motion by the 15th of the month in order to discontinue auto-pay. No exceptions. Tuition is not refunded due to student absences. We offer make-up classes within the season.
Make up classes are a courtesy offered to our students and are not redeemable as class credits. We will reschedule when class is cancelled due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances.
For Camp, tuition payments are fully refundable through June 1.

Hold on, maybe we should try something. . .
Sometimes a child just needs a change - we offer free trial classes to existing students so your student can explore Acro, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, and/or Art. Whether you're moving from a weeknight to a Saturday morning or switching from hip hop to art - we might be able to help.
Things to consider when your student seems to have lost interest or says they don't want to go to an activity. . .
We offer the following guidelines to help you evaluate your own young student, and remember, all children are different. Some of our most successful students started out crying for their mom, or minimally participated in the first class. Crying for their parent, asking for a drink or the bathroom, and even refusal to enter the studio are not necessarily signs that the child doesn’t like the class/activity. It’s something new and what they might have imagined about class while twirling and tip toeing at home or painting at their easel is very different from an organized activity with a Teacher. As a wise woman once said, “You don’t know what you don’t know.”
Don’t Give Up if Your Child*:
walks into the studio independently
participates when he/she is invited to join an activity
is given a job by the teacher and he/she does it
watches the teacher or participating children during class
takes a prop when given
cries but also participates
stops crying for a certain activity
observes other classes with excitement
talks about dance or art at home
does class activities at home
has parents that are supportive about working with the teacher during the separation (anxiety) process
The child might need a change if *:
crying on the way to class does not end after 3-4 weeks
child seems sleepy and irritable due to time of class (nap-time, end of day)
crying and no participation during the entire class does not end after 2-3 weeks
dancer hits or kicks the teacher, assistant, or other students
child runs for the door and tries to exit studio after 2-3 weeks
child is distracting or upsetting other students in class after 2-3 weeks
attendance is not consistent
The change could be:
class on a different day or time
a different adult brings the child to class
a snack is given before class
waiting a couple of months to try again
waiting for a change at home to resolve - a recent move, parent going back to work full time, sickness, starting school/daycare, loss of pet

If you still want to withdraw. . .
Before you continue – as per our policy, withdrawal requests must be received by Modern Motion by the 15th of the month in order to discontinue auto-pay tuition payments. Tuition is not refunded due to student absences. If you are dropping after the 15th of the month you will be charged on the first of next month for tuition due. You may continue to take the class during the next month in this case.
